About River Valley

We’re About One Thing

Reaching, helping, connecting people to Jesus. That’s it. Everything we do ties back to that.

Reaching, Helping, Connecting People to Jesus

This is the heartbeat behind everything at River Valley. It shapes how we plan our Sundays, how we structure our groups, how we serve our neighbors, and how we invest our resources. If it doesn’t help us reach, help, or connect someone to Jesus – we don’t do it.

Your Faith Journey

The River Valley Way

Your journey of faith, step by step. We believe spiritual growth happens best when it happens on purpose.

Step 1: We – Worship – Gather Together

It starts on Sunday. When we worship together, something shifts. You hear truth that meets you where you are, you sing alongside people who are in it with you, and you leave a little different than when you walked in.

Step 2: Love – Community – Find Your People

Sunday mornings are great, but real community happens during the week. Our groups are where you stop being anonymous and start being known. These become your people – the ones who show up when life gets hard and celebrate when life goes right.

Step 3: Grow – Discipleship – Go Deeper

Faith that lasts doesn’t happen by accident. Through Bible study, prayer, and intentional spiritual practices, you’ll build a foundation that holds up when life doesn’t go according to plan.

Step 4: Give – Stewardship – Live With Open Hands

Generosity changes you before it changes anyone else. When you give – your time, your talents, your resources – you become part of something bigger than yourself. And it feels different than you’d expect.

Step 5: Go – Mission – Share What You’ve Found

Faith was never meant to stay inside these walls. Serving your neighbor, inviting a friend, sharing your story – this is where your faith becomes someone else’s hope.

Our Team

Pastor Cody Whitfill

Pastor Cody Whitfill – Lead Pastor

Pastor Cody founded River Valley with a heart for the unchurched and the dechurched – the people who gave up on church but never gave up on God. He’s a straight-talking pastor who believes Sunday should be the best hour of your week. When he’s not preaching, he’s with his family exploring everything Bastrop County has to offer.

River Valley isn’t a one-man show. We’ve got an incredible team of people who show up every week to make this church feel like home.

What We Believe

We keep the main thing the main thing. Here’s what we hold to:

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God – our guide for how to live, how to love, and how to know Him.

God

We believe in one God who exists in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus

We believe Jesus is the Son of God, fully God and fully human, who lived a perfect life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again. He’s alive, and He’s the reason we have hope.

Salvation

We believe everyone needs a Savior – and that salvation comes through faith in Jesus, not by earning it. It’s a gift.

The Church

We believe the church isn’t a building – it’s people. And when those people love each other well, the world takes notice.

Eternity

We believe there’s more to this life than what we can see. And the choices we make here matter for eternity.
